golden egg tart




The crust (tart shell):

2 cups plain flour
1 cup custard flour
1 cup butter
Pinch of salt
¼ cup icing sugar
1 egg, whisk
A dash of vanilla extract
Appropriate amount of cold water (sampai jadi dough yg lembut cukup)

~ Mix well the plain flour, custard flour, salt, sugar, vanilla and butter till become crumb. Stir in the egg and 2 tablespoon of cold water till the mixture become dough. Water can be added more if necessary. Press the dough to tart mould so that it covers the bottom, and goes up a bit higher than the sides. Bake in preheated oven at 180˚C for 7-10 minutes.

The egg custard:
1 can evaporated milk
½ cup water
6 eggs
1 cup sugar
Vanilla extract

~ Boil water with sugar and vanilla till all sugar disolved. Remove from heat. Pour in evaporated milk and mix well. Whisk eggs in different bowl. Pour in the warm sugar & milk mixture (suam yg tak jadikan telur masak). Whisk again and strain the custard mixture. Pour in the custard mixture in tart shell prepared. Bake in the preheated oven at 200˚C for 15-20 minutes till the filling is a bit puffed up or golden brown.. done.. senang sangat pun. Filling tu boleh disimpan dalam peti ais for further usage sekiranya terlebih.
